Ancient Egypt: Sarcophagus

As we are studying the intricacies of Ancient Egypt, one can admit that it is always fun to experience things for oneself. So, the burial practices of the Egyptians provide a great foundation for exploration. Therefore, we are creating our own tomb/sarcophagus out of a shoe box. Students will create a tomb, decorate it with a cartouche, create life scenes on the walls, and place what they want to bring with them to the afterlife inside. Students will then create a clay modeled sarcophagus to be placed in their shoe box tomb. Cheap, creative, and entertaining! :)

I have got to say that was one of the funniest songs I've ever heard. But yes, we had fun that day and we listened to the King Tut song by Steve Martin. This is coming from, once again, Valerie Brown.
